Fans, spectators, and supporters are invited to join the Somerset Patriots

as the team signs a commemorative banner of well wishes to

US troops that will be sent overseas

 Bridgewater, NJ- Operation Shoebox New Jersey will host “A Patriots’ Uniform Auction” after the Somerset Patriots take on the Camden Riversharks Sunday, July 7^th at TD Bank Ballpark, home of the Five-Time Atlantic League Champion Somerset Patriots.

Gates open at 4 p.m. Game time is 5:05 p.m.

The Patriots will wear special Red, White, and Blue uniforms designed to honor America and our troops serving overseas. All proceeds will benefit Operation Shoebox New Jersey, an all-volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to collecting donated supplies and shipping care packages to U.S. troops based overseas.

“We are excited to work together with our great partners at Operation Shoebox New Jersey for this patriotic celebration. The jerseys worn by our players and coaches that day are going to be very special and all the proceeds of the jersey auction will go to the great work of Operation Shoebox New Jersey. We are asking fans to come out, be generous, and help raise money for a great cause while supporting our troops around the Independence Day weekend,” said Patrick McVerry, President/General Manager of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.

Fans will be able to purchase raffle tickets in a Tricky Tray style auction to put in the basket representing the players’ jerseys they are hoping to win at the game. At the end of the sixth inning of the game, winners will be selected and announced to be able to go down on the field immediately following the game to receive the game worn jersey and have it signed by the Patriot that wore it.

Since 2005, Operation Shoebox New Jersey has sent over 62,000 care packages to the men and women serving our country in the Middle East.

In addition to raising money for the organization with the jersey auction, the Patriots and Operation Shoebox New Jersey have joined forces for the Victory Campaign that allows individuals and businesses to make a donation to the cause with each Patriots’ win this season.
