Letter from Staff Sgt. Pamela Ferguson

Dear Operation Shoebox Volunteers, I am currently serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom at Camp Anaconda. I was fortunate enough to receive gift boxes packaged by the volunteers. I wanted to send a letter of appreciation to everyone involved. I received so many items that I shared with my fellow soldiers as well as the Third Country Nationals that work alongside of the military every day. The TCNs are employed by Kellogg, Brown and Root (KBR) and seldom are allowed to visit the PX to buy their toiletries and snacks. They were very appreciative and were shown how generous Americans really are. The gift boxes also affected my family back at home. They are doing so much to be sure I have everything I need and I never forget there are people at home who think of me and care. When they heard about all I received from the volunteers, it made them feel better knowing there were others who cared for me and my fellow soldiers as well. The family members left at home sacrifice as much, if not more, than the soldiers that are sent overseas. Anything that can help us, helps them as well. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart and my fellow soldiers and family. Staff Sgt. Pamela Ferguson 400th QM Co. Camp Anaconda, Iraq .
