08/30/2007 Dear Mr. Hirsch, Thank you very much. I recently received two packages addressed to me personally from your August Operation Shoebox drive. I am very grateful for the time, effort, and expense you and your volunteers put into sending me and other service members treats and toiletries to make our lives a little nicer over here. This is my first deployment since 2001, and the support and kind thoughts coming from home have just been super. My unit is rotating home soon, and I don't know the deployed mailing address of our replacements, but I have copied two of their members in this email, so they can send you names and mailing addresses of their Marines if they wish to receive packages from you from your packing event on 10 November. Thanks again - please pass on to your volunteers how much their time and efforts mean to us over here in Iraq.
