Letter from SPC Dunn

I received your Operation Shoebox today, I have to say I was not expecting this kind of support from the homefront. I appreciate everyone's dedication to ensuring that our troops have gifts and mementos of home. Nothing brightens a soldier's day like mail does, even if it is from a kind stranger. I want to thank all of the generous central New Jersey citizens who took time to provide us with this package program. Often in life we do things that don't make sense to us, or that we don't see the end result of. Let me be the first one to ensure you, all know that we love everything you send us, and all of your prayers as well. Being here makes one appreciate everything we left behind, but when we get packages like this one prepared with us in mind it makes us feel more connected to home. I want to say that we are safe and doing well. Currently I am serving with the 508th MP BN in Taji, Iraq. Our mission is to provide security and health care for detainees in and around northern Iraq. I am a medic who gets the opportunity to make a difference each and every day. We get to treat the sick and injured soldiers as well as detainees. Things are well here, and can be expected to only improve as we continue to strive for peace in Iraq by partnering with the Iraqi government. My name is Ryan Dunn, I want to say thank you for everything! Very respectfully, SPC Dunn HHC 50th MP BN
