Upon my return to Baghdad, I was met with 60 packages from Operation Shoe Box. As I opened each box to share with my fellow soldiers, the products were set to the side for future use as we all grabbed the letters, pictures and newspapers that bring us home, if only for a moment. There are too many organizations to thank individually, but I would like to thank the toddler that sent, on a small piece of paper, written in crayon, the word "hero"..
